05/01/2023 – Garbage will be picked up from the alleys (NOT the street) effective May 1st, 2023. There will be a week grace period where both the front and alley will be checked on May 1st.
* Lerew St., Lerew Court and 7th St. (East side) are not included and will continue garbage collection street side.
Reminders:
– Garbage is to be bagged, tied, and placed in a proper container or receptacle with a lid, preferably with holes drilled in the bottom (to prevent filling with water/snow and to drain other liquids).

08/29/2022 – Incident Report
Last night there was a power outage at the water treatment plant and only the water treatment plant. That outage caused numerous computer resets that prevented the generator from starting. In effect, the signal was lost between the generator and the plant so the generator did not know to start up.
When that happens, the system does an automatic 15min reset. It cannot be overridden. Last night Dan went to the plant to restart the generator manually. It took about 5 min for that to happen. Once the generator was started the plant resumed normal operations. Power was not restored to the plant till approximately 2 am. This was a saskpower issue not a town or plant issue.
The EPO was notified and due to our actions, there was no requirement for a boil water to be issued. Below is the reference for the requirement.
A.2.2 Precautionary boil water advisories
There are a number of situations which may prompt the issuance of a precautionary boil water advisory. These situations need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and require the incident response team to conduct an investigation and site-specific risk assessment. They are outlined below:
β’ Local maintenance or planned repairs in the distribution system which may cause a significant pressure drop, a breach in system integrity or potential contamination of drinking water;
β’ Persistent presence of total coliforms in the distribution system, despite remedial measures (such as flushing water mains, increasing chlorine residuals);
β’ Minor equipment malfunction which may impact treatment efficacy or distribution systems;
β’ Unexpected changes in source water quality that could overwhelm the treatment system;
β’ Unexpected and significant changes in routine monitoring parameters within the distribution system such as pressure, turbidity and disinfectant residuals; and
β’ A breach in system integrity such as a broken water main (e.g., pressure loss).
To be clear, there is no set time limit on pressure loss before a boil water is to be issued. The EPO assured us that all protocols were followed.
